Whisk(e)y Review/ Balcones Baby Blue
A Blue corn whisky out of the state of Texas, more specifically, Waco.
Color - Light Bronze / Gold.
Nose - Right away, sweet candy corn, dusty dryness, cotton candy. This is a sweet whiskey for the sweet whiskey enjoyer. Oak defiantly comes through with vanillas, and caramels as well.
Palate - Oak, sweetness, and some orange peels or zest? You can tell this was aged in a hot warehouse in Texas, that corn dustiness is there with a little chocolate and candied fruits.
Finish - Medium / long, mostly on the longer side, but it finishes with a subtle dryness which is nice as it holds some oakiness with it.
Notes: It is certainly not the most complex American whisky out there, but if you like sweetness and want something that drinks easy, this is one to try.
Score - 7.5/10
Batch: BB21-1, 05/27/2021, 46%
