The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

 The all-new Nissan Pathfinder, designed for a more rugged family.

Nissan has completely renewed the Pathfinder from the ground up for 2022. From widening the stance, to making more room on the inside, the new Pathfinder will be faster, more capable off-road, and bigger overall than the previous years.

To gain some of the off-road and on-road capability, all Pathfinder models will be available with the same 3.5-litre V6 making 284hp and 259 lb.-ft of torque. That motor combined with the all-new 9-speed automatic transmission and 4WD system, will allow the Pathfinder to tow a maximum of 6,000-pounds. Nissan has also included a new feature, 7-position drive selection. The Pathfinder will have modes to select from that include; Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut and Tow.

On the exterior the changes continue. With the all-new redesign, Nissan took queues from the previous (more rugged) Pathfinder models to make sure the new Pathfinder could hold true to its origins. This year, the Pathfinder will have a bold front facia, wider stance, and blister fenders. On the rear, Nissan designed the tailgate with an oversized PATHFINDER logo across it, as to be reminded of that from the earlier generations.

The interior is where the new Pathfinder gains proportions. Nissan has carefully designed the interior space to make sure they use-up every part of available space missed on previous years. The 2022 Pathfinder will now be available with seating for up-to eight passengers, a first for Pathfinder. Other key features include room for three car seats in the second row, available captain’s chairs in the second row, two inches of leg room for the front seats, nearly five inches of hip space for second row passengers and plenty of room in the trunk for all the things you might need.

Other features you might know are also included like ProPILOT assist for all the driver assisted commodities. Staying with the driver, the new Pathfinder will also feature a 10.8-inch heads-up display, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and extra storage under the centre console to store all the technology you might want to bring with you on an overnight stay in the middle of the forest.

Overall, I think Nissan has done a really good job with the all-new Pathfinder. From offering more room than ever before, to making sure they are deep in the new market of off-road capable SUV’s. From the looks of it, you will also be able to add additional “off-road” features directly from factory, and that is a key factor when shopping for a SUV today.
