Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition
A beautifully designed SUV intertwined with an amazing whisky.
Aston Martin has again decided to partner up with their friends at the Bowmore distillery to bring the Aston Martin DBX Bowmore edition to life. For me, this is one of the few automotive collaborations I will get on board with. Normally, automotive collaborations are tacky and unappreciated by many. However, when you bring together two amazing British brands like this, well, it speaks for itself.
Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition
If you want to go in depth about the Aston Martin DBX, I have an article written already, but here is a quick rundown on what it is before we get into the details that Q by Aston Martin have added in. The Aston Martin DBX is Aston’s first SUV released in 2019 and was anticipated by many (including myself). Under the bonnet (like the British would say) is a 4.0l twin-turbo V8 with 542hp making the luxurious DBX no slouch. The interior was and still is absolutely beautiful and the drive (from what I’ve read) is phenomenal.
Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition
This new edition was created by Q by Aston Martin, Aston’s designer in-house customization partner. They are responsible for giving the consumer more options for their Aston’s should they choose. In this case, they have worked hand in hand with the Bowmore distillery to create 18 special edition Aston Martin DBX’s. These DBX’s will be delivered in Britain followed by a personalized tour of the Bowmore distillery (yes, I am very jealous). On the tour of the Bowmore distillery, the customers will also get to hand-fill a bottle with a 39-year-old Bowmore (hopefully the master distiller picks the cask) (and yes, I am very, very jealous).
So, what makes the Bowmore edition, the Bowmore edition?
Nothing mechanical has been changed here but a few different things on the in, and outside have changed. On the exterior, we have a re-release of the Bowmore Blue paint colour (with other options available should the customer choose), and Bowmore-branded copper inlays in the side strakes. These are especially cool, because they are built from an original copper whisky still.

On the interior, there are two colour options; Obsidian Monotone or Copper Tan, and both have a touch of Bowmore tweed scattered throughout. Along with that, Q by Aston Martin has also added; polished copper cup holders (definitely not to hold your whisky), and sill plaques in the door jams, again made from a copper whisky still.
I’m glad Aston Martin has chosen to collaborate with Bowmore again, (first time with a Black Bowmore DB5 1964 whisky) as it brings light to the opportunity for two major “luxury” brands to work together to create something that can be appreciated by both the automotive enthusiast, as well as the whisky nerd. However, the whisky nerd might be mad as they stole copper from a still, but you know what I mean. I would say that it is unfortunate that Aston has decided to make only 18 units available, but I also can’t blame them.
