Whisk(e)y Review/ Kilkerran - 16 Year
A little Campbeltown on a Monday evening!
Color - Pale Straw
Nose - Tar, lemon zest, vanilla cream, campfire, fresh green grass. This nose, ou baby!. Like the taste of a radish? Some sea salty sea water and the sweetness from a dry white wine.
Palate - Salty sea water, tar, kippers, that radish, lemon zest and some pepper spice, but just at the end. Campfire smoke as well (the fresh kind?), gasoline. There is that white wine grape and light vanilla there.
Finish - Long and oh so delicious. It has a bit of a lingering numbness.
Score 8.2/10
This is not my favourite thing to come from Springbank, but I think it definitely has its place on the shelf.
