The New Nissan GT-R NISMO Special Edition
Nissan is set to release the new NISMO GT-R come fall this year, here are some of the details.
Let’s start with the basics. For the exterior, the new NISMO GT-R will come with a special new exclusive paint color dubbed, Stealth Gray. Other exterior details will include new RAYS forged aluminum 20-inch wheels, and a clear-coated carbon fibre hood.

The exposed carbon-fibre hood comes as Nissan is looking to save as much weight on the new NISMO GT-R, by only clear coating the hood they were able to save a total 100-grams. On top of that, the idea came from the R34 V-SPEC II N1 GT-R so that automatically makes it amazing.

Under the hood, the Nissan GT-R NISMO will feature the same VR38DETT out of the standard GT-R but with more defined internals allowing the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine to rev faster thus building boost quicker as well. The NISMO GT-R will be delivered with 600hp and 481 lb.-ft of torque.
Nissan likes to point out that each engine is hand build by one person (in Japanese they are called Takumi), and that person’s name is then stamped onto a name plate which is then placed right on the front of the engine for you to see every time you open the hood.

There was no mention of suspension or brake tuning in the press release nor in the short video I watched, but if Nissan really does plan to build another generation of GT-R that is even more “race” orientated and will hold the NISMO badge, they will surely be making upgrades in that department as well.
From what I can see, it is likely going to have HUGE 6-piston carbon-ceramic front brakes, and very large 4-piston carbon-ceramic rears. Again, no update or visual on the suspension aspect.

Personally, I have never really been a fan of the R35 GT-R. I have always found it to be, well, too computerized. Though I understand that to gain the amount of neck breaking (Jeremy Clarkson) speed out of it, it will require that kind of electronic power. But that is just my opinion, and I know a lot of people that really like the new generation GT-R, so here is another one for you.
