Whisk(e)y Review/ Angel's Envy - Port Cask Finish

It’s Friday, lets mix it up just like they did with this bourbon by putting it in a Port cask. Color - Reddish/gold Nose - Sweet, rye spice, caramel, toasted almonds, toffee, orange marmalade, there is some kind of pastry in there but I can’t put my finger on it, some chocolate. Some used oak, but it doesn’t exactly yell PORT CASK. Palate - Softer than you’d expect from the spice on the nose, it is sweet, there are still some spices, the orange comes through more on the palate, not too oak-y, there are some red fruits as well on the palate and chocolate with that, like a dark chocolate with berries maybe? Finish - Short/medium, it comes on strong but dissipates quickly. Score 7/10 Comments: It’s good, enjoyable if you want a little something different but still clearly bourbon. Port cask finished straight bourbon whiskey, 43.3%ABV
