Honda Will Build An All-Electric SUV For 2024

Believe it or not, Honda has actually been one of the oldest auto manufacturers in the electric auto market. With the Honda Insight released in 1999, they were one of the first companies to have a full electric car on the mass produced auto market.

Now, Honda has released an article saying they will be building an all-electric SUV for 2024, and additionally are talking about a full line of electric only vehicles by 2040.

The SUV they are planing for will be called the Honda Prologue. Prologue because it means the first. Although we don’t have many details yet, what we do know Is, the Prologue will be built by Honda in partnership with General Motors, and because of that, will use Ultium batteries.

Because Honda is building a new SUV for 2024, we also know that Acura, Honda’s more refined brother, will also receive a new all-electric SUV come 2024.

This is going to be interesting, and the only reason I can foresee Honda waiting until 2024 to release the Prologue is likely due to development and production of the Ultium batteries. As for the all-electric vehicle lineup for Honda, I think they are following what a lot of other manufactures are claiming as well, but it will be interesting to see what a world of only electric cars will look like.
